Chinese Excavator Sourcing FAQ

Direct answers to the questions overseas buyers ask before sourcing excavators from China.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Chinese mini excavator cost?

A real export-ready 1-ton mini excavator is usually $2,500-4,500 FOB, while a 3.5-ton compact machine often runs $14,000-20,000 FOB. Teaser prices online are often bare-minimum configurations without the documents or components professional buyers need.

Is it safe to buy an excavator from China?

Yes, if you verify the supplier, documents, configuration, and pre-shipment inspection before paying the final balance. The risk is not China as a country; the risk is buying from the wrong factory with no inspection and no document check.

What is the minimum order quantity?

One unit is possible. Dealers ordering container quantities, such as 4-6 micro excavators in a 40-foot container, usually get better per-unit economics.

How long does shipping take from China?

Production commonly takes 15-45 days depending on configuration and stock. Ocean freight can add 15-40 days depending on destination, so a practical total timeline is often 4-10 weeks.

Do Chinese excavators come with warranty?

Many suppliers offer around 1 year or 1,000 hours, but warranty scope varies by manufacturer. Parts availability is often more important than a broad warranty promise, so we help buyers plan spare parts.

What's the difference between CE and EPA certification?

CE relates to European conformity requirements including machinery safety, while EPA focuses on US engine emissions. A machine can need one, both, or another document set depending on destination market.

Can I visit the factory before ordering?

Yes. We can arrange factory tours, translation, meetings with manufacturers, sample-machine checks, and local logistics in Jining.

What payment methods do you accept?

Common methods include T/T and L/C. A typical T/T structure is 30% deposit and 70% before shipping, but terms are confirmed per order and supplier.

Do you offer OEM or private label?

Yes. Custom paint, decals, logos, attachments, and configuration changes are available on suitable models. Minimum quantities may apply depending on customization scope.

How many excavators fit in a shipping container?

Typical loading is 4-6 micro excavators in a 40-foot container, 2-3 units for 1.5-2T machines, and 1-2 units for 3.5T machines. Larger machines often require flat racks or special loading plans.
